Valentino Rossi in Yamaha fino al 2016

Valentino Rossi e il team Yamaha Motor Racing hanno raggiunto l'accordo per il rinnovo del suo contratto per altri due anni.

Rossi ha corso in MotoGP con la Yamaha dal 2004 al 2010, vincendo quattro dei suoi sette titoli nella classe regina (2004,2005,2008,2009) ed è ritornato in Yamaha nella stagione 2013, dopo i due anni alla Ducati. Con la Yamaha ha vinto finora 47 Gran Premi.
Prima di passare alla Yamaha Rossi aveva corso quattro anni con la Honda, due in classe 500 con la vittoria nel 2001 e due in MotoGP con i due titoli del 2002 e 2003.

"Sono molto felice di annunciare che ho firmato con la Yamaha per continuare insieme in MotoGP nei prossimi due anni. Sono molto orgoglioso di questo annuncio. È molto importante per me perché mi piace lavorare con la mia squadra e tutti i ragazzi del team e i membri giapponesi ed europei che sono stati con me quasi tutta la mia carriera. È fantastico perché questo era il mio obiettivo: volevo continuare, mi sento bene e sono motivato ​​a proseguire e a dare il mio meglio. Sono molto felice di poter tornare in sella alla mia YZR-M1. È stata il mio amore per tanti anni e sarà ancora il mio amore di quest'anno e le successive due stagioni. Un grande 'grazie' a tutti, cercherò di continuare a dare il massimo per ottenere risultati."

Anche, Lin Jarvis, amministratore delegato della Yamaha Motor Racing si dichiara molto felice per l'accordo raggiunto con il pilota italiano.

I'm very happy that Yamaha give me another two years contract because I enjoy a lot to work with all the guys, with all the Japanese, with all the European guys that are with me during this long part of my carear  and more or less the entire carear. I'm so happy because this is my target because I wanna continue, I feel good and I have good motivation for try to do the best and I'm very hoping that I can stay, I can ride my M1 that is my love for this season and next too. So, thanks to everybody and I will try to do the maximum, I will try to arrive in front, to make good races, enjoy!..Ciao!"
